I am in awe of the Black woman.
She is mother, she is giver, she is teacher, she is healer, she is love. She rises in spite of, she moves with grace, with rhythm, with power. She is SEXY. She is Black, she is beauty, she is defiant. She is alive.
The Black woman carries it all and still finds a way to shine. She creates, she nurtures, she transforms. She has been the backbone of movements, the architect of dreams, the protector of generations. Through it all, she stands. She walks with history in her bones as glitter sprinkles from her fingertips.
She soothes. She laughs, she dances—oooohhh, she dances! She GOT MOVES! It goes in, out, move it real slow… In the face of the impossible, she finds joy. Her boots are ON the ground. She may fall down, but she gets up! She finds resilience.
She is the heartbeat… She is. Always imitated and never duplicated. She bends but never breaks. She speaks truth in rooms that would rather silence her, and when she sings, the ancestors listen. When she prays, she finds purpose. When she is still God listens and confirms.
And she loves. Hard. For her people, for her family, for all of humanity. The Black woman’s love is radical, it is revolutionary. It is the kind of love that has raised empires, that has built futures from nothing but faith and fire, that laughs out loud, all the time. The kind of love- a mother working two jobs to provide, a grandmother making a family meal and passing down traditions, aunties sharing stories of love and life, sisters holding each other through celebrations, milestones and loss, lifting and encouraging her partner. She is the wisdom of grandmothers, the hope of daughters, the strength of warriors, the softness of a lullaby.
She is God’s light.
During Women’s History Month, we honor her. We celebrate her resilience, her power, her boundless magic. The Black woman is not just surviving—she is thriving, creating, leading, healing, and loving in a world that too often tries to dim her glow.
